【Story】Journey of Sister Chapter 3
Ch. 3 Sister Awakened!

Part 1
“Resonance of Souls”
???: This is not something you can touch, human.
The speaker is a lady holding giant shears, with short red hair and pupils. She has a compelling aura that ordinary people may be frightened by, but it is completely useless for me, because I am very angry right now!
Sister: How dare you cut off my hair! This is outrageous! Apologize to me!
Skuld: Humph, this is the sage garden of Mimir in the Holylight City. As his daughter, I, Skurd, will punish anyone who breaks in without permission. I’d say that only losing a little hair is too lucky for you.
Sister: What! This is the Holylight City…is that the rumored Carta, which contains all the history of the world?
Sister: “Can’t believe I found it so soon. Surely I’m loved by fate!”
Skuld: So I’m right. You’re coveting my father’s wisdom.
Immersed in the excitement about finding the treasure, I almost forgot the existence of Skuld, until her giant shears reached under my cheeks. The cold touch reminds me that I have to defeat her before I can get the Carta. She stares at me with cold eyes in stark contrast to her fire-red pupils.
Skuld: Give up, foolish human. That’s not something you can control. If you leave now, I can put all this behind us.
Sister: …Sounds like a great idea, but no thanks. I have my own reason to use the Carta, and I haven’t settled the debt for my hair yet!
I circulate power with my staff to launch the first attack, but Skuld’s reaction is faster than mine. With a move, my attack is blocked by the shears immediately.
Not only that, she crouches to sweep towards me with her leg. I hop back in time, but the dizziness causes me to stagger when I land on the ground. Luckily, I grip my staff to avoid the fall. However, before I can catch a breath, another attack is coming.
Sister: “Tut! A long battle will only put me at a disadvantage. I have to end this quickly. Is there any way to expose her weakness…Oh! Got it!”
Sister: AHH!
Skuld: Distraction is a great mistake in battle.
Sister: Hey! Stop stepping on my chest, okay!? I don’t want it to be a washboard!
Skuld: Humph, stop the meaningless struggle, human. The game is set. Surrender.
Sister: …If I can’t get it, I’ll destroy it!
I conjure an elemental sphere on my fingertip and cast it over the Carta. Noticed, Skuld runs over desperately, hitting the elemental sphere with her shears in the nick of time. She successfully saves the Carta but is also confined by my enchantment.
I wear a triumphant smile, looking at the trapped Skuld.
Sister: Haha, this is your weakness, as expected.
Skuld: …What do you want from me?
Sister: Don’t give me that look, okay? I won’t hurt you. I just need to borrow the Carta…Huh? Why can’t I move! What happened!
???: I’d stay put if I were you. You don’t wanna get hurt, right?
A green-haired lady with a ponytail walks in from the door of the shrine, holding a spindle. Until then, I realize that I’m already tied up by the translucent silver thread.
Skuld: You two are too slow, sisters.
???: Sorry, this is on Verthandi. She came back late.
Another lady with long aqua-blue hair comes to Skuld. She breaks my enchantment with just a single tap and releases Skuld. The situation reverses in the blink of an eye, putting me at a disadvantage.
Sister: “The Carta is just right there! Just a step away from the clues of mother…why…why am I always a loser…I just don’t want my brother to be sad…just want to live a happy life like the old days…Am I too weak…”
Sister: Hm!
Suddenly, there is a sharp pain from the mark on my chest, like feeling the resonance from the North, and a face flashes in my mind.
Enoch: “Yes, I want to protect them, people that I treasure! I’d rather endure the pain alone than let them get hurt!”
Sister: “Brother…right. Coz he’s such a doormat, that’s why I have to be tough in order to protect him!”
A huge power seems to be pouring out of my chest upon my call. I let my consciousness flow through it, let my nerves hover over it, and swallow the beginning from the origin.
Urd: Who’s she exactly? She has the power that even overwhelms gods…
Sister: Come, heroes of the past! Join me to defeat the enemies!
Suddenly, the strong light shines through my body, dazzling enough to fill the entire shrine…

Part 2
“The Invincible Weak”
As the white light fades, the field of vision changes back to a clear picture again. Everyone is stunned. This is no wonder, because a bunch of slimes suddenly appeared. It’s really hard not to be shocked.
Urd: Are these all summoned by you?
483~Verthandi~Wow, this is brilliant. I’ve never seen so many slimes together.
Skuld: Weaklings are weaklings. Can’t turn the tide. Give up.
Sister: …I won’t. I’m not done yet! Slimes, eat up the thread for me!
Under my command, the slimes leap around me. Then their elastic bodies crack, oozing corrosive liquid to quickly corrode the silver thread for me.
Breaking loose from the control, I trigger power again to order the slimes to fuse together into a gigantic slime, which leaps towards Skuld and the others!
Urd: Ah! I, I can’t breathe!
483~Verthandi~So this is how it feels inside the slime.
Skuld: Let us go! You shameless intruder!
Sister: Ha, don’t ever underestimate the fighting spirit of the weak. Under my command, even a slime can become the strongest!
With arms akimbo, I see someone rushing towards the three of them from behind.
Idun: Urd, Verthandi, Skuld!…Sister, what’s going on here?
Sister: Uh…long story…
Under Idun’s mediation, I release them eventually. But Skuld still keeps glaring at me. Never mind. I’ll just ignore her.
Idun: So you heard someone’s call and came here.
Sister: Yeah.
Skuld: Don’t listen to her. She must be lying. There’s no one else apart from us. Who’d call her—
???~It’s me…
Sister: Did you hear that? This is the voice calling me!
Everyone follows the voice and finds the Carta shining softly, and a phantom gradually emerges—a handsome uncle about 40 years old.
Urd: Father!
Spirit de Carta~No, I’m not your father. I’m just the power attached to the Carta. I used the appearance of Mimir in order to talk to you.
Then the uncle shifts his gaze to me, with a deep smile.
Spirit de Carta~You’re here, finally, the child of destiny.
Sister: …What are you talking about? What’s the child of destiny?
Spirit de Carta~In the past, when Mimir was wandering around the world, he happened to find the Bibliotheca of Truth.
483~Verthandi~Bibliotheca of Truth? Haven’t heard of it before.
Spirit de Carta~Of course. This place is not for ordinary people. Only the chosen one can enter.
Sister: Huh, that’s fussy! Who built it?
Spirit de Carta~It’s the incarnation of Abhoth. The Bibliotheca records all the history and truth of the universe. At that time, Mimir copied the partial contents of it into a book, which is the Carta in front of you. Fate has its way, in order to let you know the truth.
The uncle looks at me with annoying, inquisitive eyes, as if to force me to pull out the anxiety and fear at the bottom of my heart.
Sister: Truth…what truth! Stop the double talk!
Spirit de Carta~In fact, you’ve already noticed the connection between your loved ones and the world, right? Child of destiny. It’s just that you’re afraid to face up to the truth.
Sister: …The Carta has my mother’s…Tawil’s clues, isn’t it?
Spirit de Carta~Correct. But there are also truths that you don’t want to know…Even so, do you still want to know your fate?
As if to scare me away, the uncle deliberately summons some kind of offensive elemental crystals; Idun looks at me worriedly.
Sister: “Even a girl like her with those petite shoulders is able to bear such a heavy responsibility, how can I shrink back!”
Sister: I…want to know! Even if it is a crushing truth, I will not escape. Only by doing so…I can protect my important ones!
